When it rains…
…it is only the time when the earth and the heavens are one because the raindrops serve as bridges of hope from those who have crossed the other side of life unto those they have left behind.
…it is only the time when a wise man is reminded that mankind has grown careless and has forgotten the gift of the land so now it is weeping.
…it is only the time when a man can cry exposed for the world to see without losing his ego.
…it is a time where someone weary can put all his or her blame and sufferings unto the falling waters in order to lighten up his or her load.
…it is a time where one reminisces how colorful life can be upon seeing the rainbow that comes after it.
…it is a chance where one man can meet his destined woman upon seeking the dry comfort of a shed at some bus stop or even just a tree.
…it is a chance to strengthen the love in relationships upon sharing an umbrella while walking home together.
…it is an opportunity where one can feel carefree by dipping in puddles and getting soaked from the downpour.
…it is an irony of nature having the chance to grow and mankind having the risk to die.
…it is a reminder that water is life and that it has to be given utmost respect, care, and importance.
…it is a promise of a bountiful harvest so that in time, a farmer can feed his family well.
…during this time of the year, it is an indication that something is wrong with the weather cycle and that mother earth is clamoring for mankind to act now and do something!
I think the saying “United we stand, Divided we fall” is incomplete. Like the rain which forms and then falls into a million droplets and ultimately reuniting with the ocean, we can further complete that phrase: “United we stand, Divided we fall, United we stand once more”. Raining is a wonderful gift. Do not take it for granted and it shall reward you plenty. Forgetting to do so can mean death!
